Ladies lose

TOWN Ladies lost their final game of the season 5-3 against Team Northumbria.

The visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside 26 minutes before Town halved the deficit five minutes before the interval with a lob from Emma Poole.

Town then drew level on 42 minutes through a neat finish from Sarah Griffiths, but Northumbria immediately regained the lead.

The North East side added a fourth on 55 minutes and made sure of victory fifteen minutes later as a young Town side tired.

The hosts netted a consolation on 72 minutes when Kate Mallin’s cross was turned in by a Northumbrian defender.

Town Reserves beat Kirklees Ladies 3-0 with goals from Rebecca Catling, Jess Williamson and Katie Stanton.

The Under 14s were beaten 5-0 by Howden Clough.
