Amateur football: Town Boys stay top

REHAN SAFEER’S double helped Town Boys remain undefeated and stay joint top of Division I.
Gafer Hamer and Faruk Hussain were also on the scoresheet as they beat last season’s winners Athletico Monkey 4-2. Dean Siddiq and Liam Walton replied for Athletico.
Joint leaders Waterloo BC defeated Britannia Sports for the first time in the club’s history.
Tom Mitchell and Dave Woffenden profited from mistakes by Britannia keeper Ben Clayton-Smith to give Waterloo a half time lead.
Waterloo lost goalkeeper Pete Jennings to injury as Johnny Bottomley pulled one back for Britannia. However, Pete Marsh made sure of the points as Waterloo ran out 3-1 winners to remain unbeaten.
Dean Calcutt hit a brace and Danny Ingham also notched as Black Bull edged out Craven 3-2.
Walpole Community and HD One are still neck and neck at the top of Division I as both secured comfortable victories.
Richard Lewis and Anton Samms bagged two goals each for Walpole while Lewis Tolsen also netted as they beat Barr Street 5-2.
HD One dispatched relegated Woodfield Park 8-1. Newham, Redmile and Langfield all scored braces while Hanley and Ashford completed the rout.
Field Head and Helion battled out a 4-4 draw with Paul Wright scoring a hat-trick for the Head.
Richard Taylor completed their scoring as Hall, Hobson, Stephenson and Askin replied for Helion.
Woolpack Almondbury beat Wellington 5-1 with goals from David Croft (2), Nathan Adams, Daniel Farrand and Jack Dyson.
