Marsden FC have presented village businessman Clive Pearson with a commemorative team shirt and tie in recognition of his long-standing sponsorship of the club.
Pearson, who is the proprietor of Pearson’s Funeral Service in Marsden, sponsors the first team shirt and has also paid for this season’s new training tops.
“We are all part of the Marsden community, and I am proud to support the local football club,” said Pearson as he was presented with his framed shirt at Marsden’s Fall Lane ground.
First team manager Gavin Connor said: “We are all very grateful to Clive for his continuing support, without which a club like Marsden couldn’t thrive.”
Marsden came up trumps for their sponsor by beating top-of-the-table Brighouse 2-1 in the West Riding.
