LINTHWAITE Under 15s have secured their title thanks to a 3-2 win at Hall Green.
A victory for Hall Green would have left the title race open, and they put up stern resistance by scoring twice.
But Linthwaite were equal to the challenge with goals from Conner Beaumont, Zach Nash and Elliot Ashmore to guarantee top spot.
YMCA retained pole position in Division I of the Under 15s with a solid victory over Hepworth.
Hepworth were unable to hit the target as Jay Brogan-Ellis (2), Edward Hemingway (2) and Ronnie Roberts netted to give the Laund Hill side a 5-0 win and three more points for their title challenge.
But, while YMCA stay top they can’t afford any slip-ups as Clifton Rangers sit just three points behind them.
Skelmanthorpe did their hopes of promotion from Division IV of the Under 11s no harm when they picked up another three points following victory at Ossett Town.
Two goals from Ossett were not enough to stop Skelmanthorpe who replied through Caleb O’Neill (2), Morgan Lecomber (2) and Joel Cartledge for a 5-2 win.
Meltham Under 12s will be hoping to hang on to their First Division status following their game at fellow strugglers BPA Juniors.
Two goals for Horncastle and one for Hall gave Meltham a 3-3 draw and a share of the points for two sides hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.
And they needed the points as second bottom Warley Rangers picked up an unexpected win over Westwood Jets.
The Jets could find the net only once as Ethan Rotherforth (2), Charlie Scholey, Joe Hilditch, Dominic North and Rory Ellis notched up a 7-1 win for Warley.
In Division II of the Under 12s, YMCA’s win over bottom club Shelf keeps them in fourth place.
Toby Womersley, Sam Jennings and Lewis Fitzpatrick scored to give YMCA a 3-1 victory.
Upperthong rounded off a disappointing season in Division II of the Under 11s with a heavy defeat at Westend Lions.
With just three draws for their efforts this season, the Holme Valley side will be looking forward to winning a few games in a lower division next season.
Although Upperthong found the net twice, they were clearly suffering from end of season blues and goals from Jake Morton (2), Alex Lee (2), Callum Joyce, Alexander King (2), Hakan Dalbal (2) and a Luke France hat trick gave Westend an 11-2 victory.
Netherton Under 14s travelled to Mount Pleasant for their Division III game but came home empty handed after suffering a narrow defeat.
With both sides firmly placed in the mid table, there was little to play for and, although James Cawley scored for Netherton, replies from Farhaad Mukhtar and Zakaria Vali gave Mount Pleasant a 2-1 win to leave them just two points ahead of Netherton.
Following their mid-week County Cup victory, Brighouse Town resumed their chase for the Under 16 League title.
Two goals for Sulleman Rafiq and a Callum Murgatroyd hat trick was enough to secure a 5-0 win at Hepworth United, but Brighouse still have a lot of games to catch up – and win – if they want to clinch the title.
