THERE was a huge bonus for Denby Dale’s Tom Tunstall as his team secured their the first points of the season at Donington Park.

As both racer and team manager, the latest round of the British Superbike Championship saw a step forward for Tunstall and the Doodson Motorsport Team as Danish rider Robbin Harms scored his first points for the team.

Tunstall said: “Donington was a positive meeting for us. We’re still making significant steps forward with the bikes and our potential is starting to show.

“Robbin scoring points was testament to this and, for me, I’ve still got work to do on the bike but my feeling is getting better.

“Robbin, myself and the whole team are very much looking forward to continuing the good work at Assen.”

The next round takes place at Assen in Holland over the weekend of the September 21-23 when Tunstall will be hoping the team can progress again.

The Doodson team continue to play “catch up” since the mid-season switch of manufacturer from BMW to Honda and CBR1000RR Fireblades.

Harms, still fairly new to the team, was more accustomed to the fast and flowing nature of the 2.48 mile Leicestershire track having previously scored a podium finish there in the World Supersport Championship.
