Carnegie too quick

TOWN Ladies were well beaten by a young and speedy Leeds Carnegie side 6-2.

Huddersfield came from a goal down to equalise through an Emma Pool penalty and then went in front when Emily Husband knocked in a rebound after Kate Mallin had hit the bar with a corner.

Leeds equalised before half-time, however, and then romped home.

Laura Carter did well to keep Leeds out for long periods, while Jade Robshaw was Town’s top player.

Town entertain Northumbria at Emley’s Welfare Ground on Sunday (2.00).

Town’s Under 12s reached the West Riding Junior Girls Cup final after beating Nostell Miners Welfare 3-0.

Keeper Chloe Rowlands commanded her area, while Rebecca Moore produced another all-action display and was rewarded with two goals. The other was an own goal.

The final is against Wigton Moore at Ossett Town on Saturday, May 3.
