DOWNHILL mountain bike rider Jack Reading sealed a remarkable victory in the Scottish Downhill Association series in Dunkeld.
In the elite category, he was seeded 18 in a 20 strong field.
The Outlane rider finished with a quickest time of 2.19.430 on his first run to finish over half a second quicker than top seed and runner up Ben Hall.
Reading has also competed in the British Universities and Colleges mountain bike championships where he finished second.
After having a stint with the Huddersfield Town Academy, he has spent a year out in Canada after he finished his A levels in 2007 at Greenhead College.
It was over there where he mastered his trade.
He was shortly snapped up to be a sponsored rider for Ellsworth Handcrafted bicycles.
Despite having a gap year and competing competitively in downhill mountain biking, Reading has just completed his first year at Manchester University where he is studying Optometry.
Next up for the rider will be the SDA series meeting at Glencoe on July 12.
