Aussie Rules: History in making as Aussie Rules arrives

AUSSIE Rules comes to Huddersfield for the first time on Saturday – and Neil Morrison can’t wait.
The 39-year-old from Marsh is the only Australian in the Huddersfield Rams squad, and he’s enjoying passing on his expertise.
Quickly installed as coach by Karl Haigh, founder of the fledgling club, the Melbourne man is more than impressed by the way his charges have taken to the sport.
They are top of the UK League Central section – and in a further boost, Morrison has been put in charge of the divisional select side for the forthcoming British Cup.
That takes place at Cardiff a week on Saturday, when Morrison’s selections will pit themselves against the top Aussie Rules players in the country.
But for the time being, his focus is on Saturday’s action at Lockwood Park, when the Rams take on Leeds Bombers and Birmingham Bears face Liverpool Eagles in round seven.
