HUDDERSFIELD judo club brought home one of the biggest medal hauls in the club’s history after the North of England Judo Tournament, held at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, Bradford.
Entries at ten different weight categories saw many fighters attending the event for the first time as they competed against teams from London and Scotland.
George Robson and Joe Wainwright both won gold medals in their division. Thomas Nuttall, Ben Hurst, Luca Wainwright and Jacob Justice all picked up silver. A bronze medal was also scooped by Georgia Marsden.
All the fighters had pool fights of four or six people before proceeding onto the knockout stages for medals so many of the members gained vital experience.
Andrew Farrell also continued the gold medal spree as he came out on top in the adult 81kg category after five hard-fought contests.
