Table tennis: Geoff Brook claims gold

HUDDERSFIELD’S Geoff Brook has claimed gold in the European Veterans Table Tennis Championships in Croatia.

He teamed up with Terry Donlon to win the over 80s doubles and backed that up with bronze in the singles.

Brook, who was 80 in May, was one of 230 English competitors taking part in the event, with only a handful of those returning home with medals.
