Tennis: Huddersfield D push for promotion

HUDDERSFIELD D picked up momentum in their promotion push from Division 5 of the Slazenger Huddersfield and District Tennis League.

They enhanced their position in the race with a 10-2 win over Thornhill B.

In the Ladies League’s top flight Huddersfield A pepped up their title chances with an emphatic 12-0 win over Marsden A.

Huddersfield’s first pair of Rebecca Lee and Charlotte Kershaw set the tone with a 6-1 6-0 win over Marsden’s first pair Dianne Sykes and Lynn Sykes.

The pattern continued with the Marsden team, promoted last season, finding it hard to stay in touch with their rivals.
