Boxing: Tyrone Nurse and Alistair Warren set to shine in front of Sky cameras

TYRONE NURSE and Alistair Warren have been handed hometown slots on the big Sky Sports boxing show at Huddersfield Sports Centre on Friday, March 5.

Dewsbury’s Gary Sykes tops the bill as he takes on Scotsman Ricky Burns for the British and Commonwealth super-featherweight titles.

And the appearance of Nurse and Warren – who like Sykes, have 100% professional records – has added to the growing interest.

Chris Aston, who manages Sykes and trains Nurse and Warren, has a fourth fighter on the bill in the shape of Leeds bantamweight prospect Josh Warrington.

He scored an impressive debut win over Walsall’s Delroy Spencer at Huddersfield in November and followed up with another points victory, this time over Mansfield-based Latvian Pavels Senkovs in Bolton in December.

Nurse chalked up his 11th pro success against Manchester’s William Warburton at Bolton before Christmas having beaten Birmingham’s Jason Nesbitt on the last Sports Centre show.
