JUDO ace Liam Tarandij has struck gold again.
The 14-year-old Rawthorpe Amateur Boxing Club member fought in the Neil Adams Classic Judo Competition at Meadowbank Stadium in Edinburgh and won all five fights (two by ippon and three by yuko), despite conceding weight at 34kilos in the Under 38k class.
Competitors came from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Belgium.
From Saturday, Liam (pictured) is in Sheffield training with the England Talent Development squad. They are preparing for international training camps in Russia, Italy, Sweden and Japan.
Liam is not funded due to his age, so he is holding a fundraising event at Huddersfield’s Gas Club on Friday April 16. Anyone who can offer help should contact Rawthorpe coach Mark Reynolds on 07747 846977 or Mark.leftjab@hotmail.co.uk
