TOURNAMENT winners Judy Vickerman and Debbie Jackson took the feature game as Phoenix beat Royds Hall 4-2 in the Huddersfield Badminton League Ladies Division.

Royds Hall still had a chance of sharing the spoils when Vickerman and Jackson faced their top pairing of Mags McAulay and Christine Oldfield.

But after losing the first game18-21, Phoenix’s Vickerman and Jackson took the next two 21-5, 21-17 to seal a 4-2 success.

The whole match featured hard-fought games between two strong sides.
