IT’S do or die for two Huddersfield netball clubs in tomorrow’s West Yorkshire County League play-off.
Nosh face Blakes at Whitcliffe Mount (10.15am) for the prize of a place in the First Division next season.
Nosh lost out on automatic promotion by one point this term, finishing third in Division II.
Blakes finished third from bottom in Division I, hence the play-off to decide whether Blakes stay up and avoid relegation or Nosh are promoted to the top division.
With both teams playing in the Huddersfield Netball League, the rivalry is sure to be intense.
Nosh, formerly known as Cobwood, are coached by Hazel Lockwood and have been established for more than 40 years.
Their record this season from 18 matches is 13 won and five lost, with 44 points on the board and a goal difference of plus 105.
A number of their team also play in the Halifax League as well as Huddersfield and West Yorkshire and they have members this year celebrating their 20th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th and 70th birthdays!
Injuries and illnesses have disrupted the squad during key times throughout the season.
The squad under coach Hazel Lockwood are Suzanne Armitage, Michelle King, Vicky Ginnelly captain), Nutan Joshi, Sarah Arundel, Emily Pearson, Fay Henderson, Maureen Kelly, Shelly Phillips, Gaby Greenwood, and Jill Thornley-Casson.
New members are welcomed to join Nosh. Training takes place every Monday evening at Moorend Academy (7.00-9.00pm) when there are no matches scheduled.
