HUDDERSFIELD Dragons men’s first team were both outplayed and slayed by an enthusiastic Harrogate first team who slammed in eight goals at Lockwood Park.
Although the weather was cold, Harrogate opened at a hot pace and were soon in front as they attacked with pace and precision and took any small opportunity to score – winning 8-2.
Huddersfield did manage to claw a couple of goals back, the first coming from Ed Haigh from open play, while Si Courtney added to his season’s tally when he deflected the ball into the net from a short corner.
But with goals coming thick and fast at the other end, Harrogate held a 4-2 half-time lead, and continued to score at will in the second half.
Dragons regularly penetrated the visitors’ D but were unable to get any worthwhile strikes in, while Harrogate slammed in another four goals to complete the rout.
