Amateur RU: YMCA boosted by Simon Wilson’s return at scrum half
Feb 26 2010 by David Lockwood, Huddersfield Daily Examiner
SIMON WILSON is back to boost the YMCA tomorrow when they entertain Hessle in a re-arranged Yorkshire II game at Laund Hill.
The tricky scrum half has been out of action for the last month because of a leg injury, and coach Mark Eastwood will be delighted to see his return, which not only fills the No9 berth with a specialist player, but also allows skipper Neil Walker to go back his more familiar role in the back row.
Meanwhile, Will Sellars retains his place in the front row after a couple of excellent performances against Moortown and Pocklington at prop, where he will again partner Lawrence Sanderson, with Steve Dyke taking on the hooking role (2.15 kick-off).
Tim Horner was another injury worry, but has recovered from a bang and continues at centre with John Smith installed at full-back.
After being deprived of victory last week at Pocklington (following a dubious line call which ruled out a certain try for Adam Ryder), YM will be looking to take out their frustration on a Hessle side who are currently propping up the League, but the coaching team will surely be warning their side against complacency, particularly after what happened three weeks back at next-to-bottom Goole, from where they returned with a disappointing defeat!
