Amateur RU: No slacking off: Huddersfield boss Dan Hyde

HUDDERSFIELD RU have been told to maintain their focus and level of concentration when they visit bottom-of-the-table Manchester tomorrow (3.00) in Yorkshire II.

Having shocked Loughborough Students last week with a superb performance, coach Dan Hyde is anxious his men don’t let complacency creep in against a side who have yet to register a single point this season.

“We had a fantastic week last week with two wins in four days, and the challenge this week is to maintain our concentration and perform to our ability right from the start,” said Hyde.

“We’re not going over there to start playing Sevens rugby. We shall be taking Manchester very seriously, and not looking to simply run tries in from anywhere. They gave us a good work-out for 30 minutes when we played at Lockwood Park earlier in the season, and we’ll be again treating them with respect.”

James Davies retains his place in the second row after his impressive show against the Students, but elsewhere Hyde keeps to the same starting line-up at Manchester, where a bonus point victory would lift his team up to ninth in the table.

Huddersfield: Owen; Pratt, Hall, L Paxman, Wood; Johnson, Hinchliffe; Stringwell, Morrill, Battye, Rhodes, Davies, Hinchliff, Lewis, Sharpe. Subs: Hyde, Lancaster, Bodsworth, Duffy, Chirwa.
