ATLANTA, Sydney and now Athens.
Huddersfield's Sydney Boothroyd is on his Olympic travels again.
The 57-year-old, who is an Adult Education IT lecturer at Slaithwaite for Huddersfield Technical College, is bound for Greece in August as one of the 18 judges for the diving competitions.
One of the world's top officials, Boothroyd's first trip was to the United States in 1996 as manager to the British diving team, and then four years ago in Australia and now in Greece he will use his expertise to give divers marks out of six.
But as he looks forward to what is one of the world's biggest events, he is riddled with doubts over whether all the facilities will be ready for action.
Only last month Sidney was in Greece for the FINA World Cup diving event, and he has returned with some reservations on certain aspects of the venues, despite there still being just over four months to the official opening on Friday, August 13.
"I am very happy to have been selected to represent diving," said Boothroyd, "but after visiting the sites last month I feel a little apprehensive that some of the venues will not be ready in time. I just hope I'm proved wrong.
"While I was out there they didn't want people going out to the sites to see what state they were in. But some were in a right mess.
"The diving, water-polo and synchro pools are ready because these facilities have been used previously but the swimming events pool is far from ready.
"And the main arena is also behind schedule.
"Security and transport could also prove a real nightmare.
"The traffic when we were there last month was a headache, so what it will be like in August with many thousands of extra people in the city I dread to think.
"I have a feeling they'll be just be finishing painting the pole as they run up the flag."
Boothroyd is one of the first to get to know he has been selected for Athens as most of the sports have yet to name their representatives.
He was chosen from two British nominations after they had been observed at a competition - Boothroyd coming out on top.
And he is highly delighted to complete an Olympic hat trick, and although he will be watching on how things are progressing on the building front, he will be ready and waiting for setting off day on August 12.
