St John's Road

A trial has provisionally been set for next month.

Mr Bamford, 19, was a passenger in a Honda Jazz, allegedly being driven by Mr Coulter, that crashed and overturned on St John’s Road in Birkby in the early hours.

Police had attempted to stop the car at nearby traffic lights before it allegedly sped off.

It is claimed the car had been stolen from its owner’s house, on St Thomas’ Gardens in Bradley, seven days earlier.

Mr Coulter is also charged with aggravated vehicle taken and driving without insurance or a valid licence.

A 17-year-old man who was in the car has also been charged.
