Leon Henry is looking forward to his big Evo-Stik Northern Premier League return with promoted Brighouse Town.

Last season’s Northern Counties East League champions make their eagerly-anticipated bow at the higher level at home to Radcliffe Borough in Division I North on Saturday.

Skipper Henry has plenty of previous NPL experience with the likes of Ashton United, Frickley Athletic, Mossley and Ossett Town.

“I’m looking forward to helping the club make history in their first-ever game in the Evo-Stik,” he said.

“There is a real buzz around the place and everyone is really pumped up for this season.

“As captain, I will be giving everything on and off the field and it’sa good feeling to be returning to the Northern Premier.

“The squad is looking strong and fit, we are all ready for the opening game against Radcliffe.

“We will be looking to impose our style of play on teams wherever possible.

“We have nothing to lose this season and although we will show everyone in the league respect we won’t be holding anything back on a match day.”

Paul Quinn’s side are also in action on Tuesday, when they head to Ossett Albion.

FC Halifax Town aim to make it three wins from three Vanarama Conference games when they host Welling United on Saturday.

They have already beaten Dover Athletic and Southport.
