IN-FORM Amit Dani will spearhead Skelmanthorpe’s drive as one of several clubs aiming to book a quarter-final spot in the Examiner Twenty/20 tournament tonight, when the fourth round of games are scheduled.

Dani takes his Lidgett Lane side to Kexborough looking to take the lead in the Watson Pool.

Primrose Hill head the Haigh Pool and visit close neighbours Hall Bower tonight, and the Cross Lane side can put themselves in a very strong position with a victory in the derby clash, although Broad Oak will keep their campaign going if they defeat Linthwaite in another local derby.

In the Hirst Pool, four teams all have five points, but Honley and Shepley have played a game fewer than their rivals, and by coincidence the two meet at Honley with the winners putting themselves right in the driving seat.

Golcar have more points (12) than any other club in the competition, let alone their section (the Holmes Pool), and will be expecting to knock over Rastrick to make it four out of four.

Meltham, who walloped Delph & Dobcross last week with a magnificent ton from Leighton Morgan, round off their programme with a home game against the bottom side in the Taylor Pool, Slaithwaite, while Micklehurst can give their qualifying hopes a boost by winning at Marsden.

The Rhodes Pool is still wide open, but Kirkheaton will be looking to end their round-robin stage with victory over Lepton Highlanders, while Lascelles Hall visit Kirkburton, where victory would put them in a strong position with a game to play.

The final pool games are next week.
