ENGLAND legend Geoff Boycott is worried Andrew Flintoff's shattered England team will be on the end of a 5-0 Ashes whitewash.

Boycott delivered his damning verdict as England were coming to terms with today's humiliation in Perth, where their comprehensive 206-run defeat in the third Test handed Australia the series.

"I am worried now about where it goes from here. I'm worried it could be 5-0," said Boycott.

"We are going to Melbourne and we are probably going to get another thrashing. I can't see where they are going to pick themselves up."

England coach Duncan Fletcher said the thought of resigning had never crossed his mind, but Boycott pointed out where things have gone wrong and believes the coach should go.

"Andrew Flintoff was nowhere near on his batting - he hardly got any runs in six digs. His bowling was okay but there was still something missing there," he said.

"We got nothing out of the keeper Geraint Jones. Jones has not got a run and his mental capacity isn't right. You have to have sound judgment but his mind has gone and he's got to get out of Test cricket and give someone else a go. To pick him would be outrageous.

"There are plusses. Collingwood for one and Pietersen - what a fantastic player he is becoming. The kid Alastair Cook also batted well here."

Boycott also believes England will struggle to get Australia out twice.

"You might get them out once but you can't get them out a second time," he said. "We are not going to get too many helpful wickets in Australia.

"It has taken a lot for the coach Duncan Fletcher and Flintoff to pick Monty Panesar ahead of Ashley Giles. It looked to me like they were digging their heels in on Giles. You pick guys in form and you have to move on. The Aussies move on. There is no sentiment, no sympathy. They enjoy having you in, but they move on."
