EMLEY CLARENCE are due to celebrate their 125th Anniversary this year.
And to get it under way the club are planning a get-together in April for both current and former players and helpers, which will be held at the Cinnamon Lounge in Horbury Bridge (they are club sponsors).
Club president Mike Onions said: “We are marking the occasion with an evening at our sponsors on Saturday, April 13, when we’ll be having food, a few drinks and a good talk about the old times.
“We’ll also be discussing our plans for the future, such as the clubhouse extension, and generally just having a good old chinwag.
“We are hoping to attract as many of the ‘old guard’ as possible, and indeed, anyone who has graced the club with their presence down the years.
“Quite a number of people have already been contacted, but some of those we’d like to hear from, and apologies for those missed out, include Paul Markham, John Whittle, Ged Lohan, Melvin Cook, Gordon Adamson, John Lee, Jim Addy, Tony Booth, Rod Dorman, Brian Milnes, Graham Dickens, Bernard and Geoff Wilkinson, Ken Boulton, Robert Shaw, John Wimpenny, Andy Lund, Mick Moorhouse, Richard Hickling, Dean Rickson, Graham Russell, Cliff Smith, Nigel Crowther, Bob Balcam, Alan Horner, Jim Stanley and Kieron Brown.”
The cost of the evening is around £20 per head, and anyone interested can contact either Onions on 07714 271381, or e-mail email@example.com, Richard Haynes on 07778 994541 or John Moors on 07802 488347.
