HALIFAX League sides Blackley and Outlane are both still gunning for their respective titles despite disappointing showings in their latest outings.

Blackley had started the season strongly in the Towergate Premier Division and had only narrowly trailed early leaders Thornton before facing SBCI away.

The Lindley Road club, who lifted the Premiership title in 2009, slipped to fifth in the table after their 169-run defeat in Sowerby Bridge.

SBCI set 327-4 and Blackley were ousted for 158 – their rivals taking over at the top of the table thanks to their success.

However, Blackley will be looking to bounce back as they are at home next Saturday when Copley are the visitors.

However, a tight result at Shelf saw Outlane stay top of the Terry Wynne Division Two.

Outlane, who took 33 points from their opening three games of the season, set 193-7 but Shelf managed to tale the major share of the points as they reached their target with 195-8.

With their lead at the top having been cut to seven points after chasing Luddenden Foot notched a clear cut victory over Stones, Outlane will be looking to improve their fortunes at home to Bridgeholme on Saturday.
