Edgerton & Dalton face Green Moor in the Huddersfield Central Cricket League’s showpiece Copymark Allsop Cup final on Sunday.

It’s a 1.30pm start at Upper Hopton CC, and there’s little to choose between the sides who are second and third in the arrowselfdrive league’s Premier Division.

Both teams had a bye in the first round, but Edgerton & Dalton then powered past both Leymoor and Old Almondburians before meeting Mount in the semi-finals.

It proved a titanic battle, with Asim Rafiq hitting an unbeaten 70 to put Edgerton & Dalton through by three wickets after they had been set a target of 195-9.

Green Moor had a walkover in the second round against Denby Grange and then won by nine wickets against Crossbank Meths to book a semi-final against Woolley.

After putting up 193, Green Moor bowled out their opponents for just 44 thanks to three wickets apiece from Sam Askey, Mark Elsworth and Liam Burkinshaw.

Edgerton & Dalton won the Allsop Cup as recently as 2012, while Green Moor are looking for their first ever win.

Umpires are Harry Marsden of Flockton and Brian Cooper of Heckmondwike & Carlinghow.

Admission is £2, with concessions £1.
