HUDDERSFIELD launched their Joe Lumb Cup defence with a resounding victory against North Yorks/South Durham at Marsden.

Tim Taylor’s Under 17 representative side won by four wickets after dismissing the visitors for 118.

Meltham’s Alex Clegg and Rohan Randhawa of Thongsbridge had three wickets apiece to knock the stuffing out of the North Yorks/South Durham innings.

Marsden’s Joe Smith (31) and Honley’s Harvey Booth (24) gave Huddersfield a solid start in reply, putting on 58 for the first wicket, and they didn’t look back from there, with Toby Booth (Scholes) weighing in with 19 to guide them towards the target.
