Huddersfield-born veteran seamer Ryan Sidebottom has signed a one-year contract extension with Yorkshire that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2016 season.

The 37-year-old, who began his career at Headingley but left for Nottinghamshire in 2003 only to return seven years later, has 663 first-class wickets in a 17-year career.

And Sidebottom has now set his sights on reaching 700 as well as helping the White Rose defend their LV= County Championship title in 2015.

“I am absolutely delighted to be signing a new deal,” he said.

“It’s been a great couple of years for the club, with us winning the Championship and continuing to improve.”
