Tom Craddock will be on England 12th man duty for the third Test against Australia at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old Honley leg spinner who plays for Essex could well get chance to field in the match, which starts on Thursday with England 2-0 up in the five-match series.

Craddock, of course, hit the headlines earlier this season when he took five for 69 against Alastair Cook’s men in their Ashes warm-up match at Chelmsford.

His victims were Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Matt Prior, Graeme Swann and Steven Finn, who has been dropped for this Test, while Craddock also trapped Joe Root lbw in the second innings before rain halted play.

Now, the young man who began playing cricket with Holmfirth and also in the Evening League, could get a taste of the biggest stage of all.
