Huddersfield Under 13s lost in the semi-finals of the Lord’s Taverners tournament.

Heavy Woollen posted 174-5 and despite the best efforts of Jack Bower with 49 and Jake Lynn with 26, Huddersfield fell 14 runs short at 160-8.

Earlier, Huddersfield had a nine-wicket victory over Wetherby, who were restricted to 157-9. James Wharton with an unbeaten 88 led the successful reply, taking Huddersfield to 158-1, with the help of 34 not out from Tom Addy.

Barnsley were their next victims, with Addy taking two for 15 as the home side were restricted to 163-4.

In reply, Harrison Quarmby hit an unbeaten 58, Addy 36 and Seb Crabtree 31 as Huddersfield won by six wickets, totalling 166-4.

Huddersfield then played East Yorkshire at home and restricted the visitors to 177-4, with Josh Finch taking two for 22.

Slaithwaite’s Quarmby was again in excellent form, hitting an unbeaten 80 to lead Huddersfield to victory at 181-5, Wharton hitting 38.

Lepton are leading Area B of the Sellers Huddersfield Junior League Under 13s but had a tight squeeze against Skelmanthorpe B, getting home by nine runs in a match where both teams fielded younger players.

They are closely followed by Denby Dale and Shepley, who both won away, but surprisingly Rastrick lost at home to Kirkheaton.

In Area C the leaders, Golcar, had nine-year-old Liam Dyson to thank for taking two late wickets to help them to victory over Scholes.

Birkby RH kept up the pressure on them with a win over Broad Oak.
