HALL BOWER Under 13s managed to win an Area A thriller against Holmfirth in the Sellers Huddersfield Junior League.

Having been set a target of 100-7 by visitors Holmfirth, in which Keiran Taylor retired on 26, the Bower made steady progress thanks to 28 from Matthew Crane.

The result hinged on the final over and Hall Bower got home off the next to last ball with Ishmail Ahmed hitting the winning runs and finishing on 23 not out in a total of 103-6.

In a low-scoring game at Thongsbridge, the home side suffered with four run-outs after restricting their opponents Green Moor to 71 all out (Chris Simpson retiring on 27 while Joe Smith and Louie Bridge took three wickets each). Thongsbridge closed on 68 in reply.

Four outstanding Cup-ties were played with wins for Clayton West, Delph, Slaithwaite and Upperthong.

Almondbury Wes, Hoylandswaine and Holmfirth B had to concede their games due lack of players.
