HUDDERSFIELD cricket's longest serving council member, Trevor Heeley, is standing down as their League rep after serving Skelmanthorpe club for around 50 years!
Mr Heeley, who has performed most official duties at Skelmanthorpe at some time or other, regretfully informed the club of his decision to stand down on health grounds, and will be replaced by bar treasurer Geoff Crompton.
The club, meanwhile, have revealed plans to further upgrade their facilities during the winter.
The Lidgett Lane club are modernising their pavilion, but their main plan is to install a disabled access ramp, which will probably involve going through the side or back of the existing building.
The club are now seeking funding from grant applications and through their own money-raising activities.
It is expected the proposed changes will be carried out in time for the start of the 2007 season.
