MOUNT had a double celebration in the arrowselfdrive Central League and Copymark Allsop Cup.

The Batley side went top of the Premier Division with a great win over previous leaders Birkby Rose Hill and then knocked Netherton out of the Cup.

Captain Hasan Patel was the hero of the League win, hitting 57 not out as Mount totalled 142-9 in their 45 overs against their Drakes League-bound opponents.

Rose Hill made a great start in reply and looked to be heading for victory, but Patel then pounced with five for 31 and Birkby fell 14 runs short at 128 all out in a tremendous battle.

In the Cup clash, Section B (third tier) Netherton won the toss and decided to bat first but were dismissed for 77, Ibrahim Badat taking five for 11.

Mount lost two early wickets in reply but managed to go through comfortably in the end as they finished on 80-2 with Muzaffar Pathan unbeaten on 43.

Mount B totalled 202-9 against Silkstone with Imran Kayat top scoring with 64.

In reply Silkstone were dismissed for just 89 as Suleman Rawat took a career best eight for 42.
