NEW sponsors All Rounder Cricket Ltd are offering exclusive deals to Drakes Huddersfield League cricketers and their clubs.

The Leeds company who are based opposite the Headingley stadium on St Michael’s Lane, have stepped in to back the popular Twenty/20 Trophy and Shield competitions following the demise of Romida Sports.

And as well as providing the prizes for the finalists, the company, run by former Yorkshire and Derbyshire player Chris Taylor in partnership with Yorkshire skipper Andrew Gale (inset), are also offering clubs the chance to be kitted out in new Addidas Twenty/20 strips.

“We are already supplying around nine clubs in the Drakes League, including Shepley, Barkisland, Skelmanthorpe, Broad Oak and League newcomers Denby Dale,” said Chris Taylor, whose father is a former Denby Dale player.

And the Huddersfield connection does not end there, as the company’s store manager is none other than Elland’s vice-captain and front-line batsman Greg Finn.

“We have taken on an initial deal for three years with a view to extending it, and we want to support the competition wherever possible,” continued Taylor, who as well as being on the management board of the Bradford League, is also the chairman at nearby Lightcliffe Cricket Club.

The company, who stock leading cricket and hockey brands, are also heavily involved in cricket coaching and recently finished a course at Holmfirth High School.

Coming up shortly will be coaching sessions at the indoor nets at Headingley, under the tuition of Huddersfield-born Test player Ryan Sidebottom and Yorkshire captain Gale.

“It’s a brilliant opportunity for youngsters to get top coaching from players they actually see playing on television,” added Taylor.

As well as the store at Headingley, the company are also on-line. All Rounder Cricket can be contacted on 0113 2033679 or at www.allroundercricket.com
