RIYAZ MOTALA produced a five-wicket show including a hat trick to help Mount remain top of the Huddersfield Central League.

His haul of five for 33 ensured Woolley were dismissed for just 92 in reply to a Mount total of 257-7.

Among the runs for the Batley side were Anees Rawat with 83, Mohammed Makda on 66 and captain Hassan Patel, unbeaten on 55.

The victory was ideal preparation for Mount’s trip to Green Moor in the quarter-finals of the Copymark Allsop Cup on Sunday.

Birkby Rose Hill maintained their challenge with an easy win against Heck & Carl.

Visitors Rose Hill piled up 217-9 thanks to a fine 77 from Rashid Nazar, before the home side were held at 130-9, Mushtaq Hussain taking five for 42.

Scott Bissett was in productive all-round form for Drakes-bound Cartworth Moor but finished on the losing side against Edgerton & Dalton.

Home side Moor reached 169-7, Bissett top scoring with 61 and Will Kilner adding 33 as Nasir Ali collected three for 14.

Ali then helped guide his side to a four-wicket win with an unbeaten 27 as Asim Rafiq finished on 71 not out and Edgerton & Dalton on 175-6 – Bissett claiming three for 33.

It’s a big weekend for the Central League with the quarter-finals of both the Allsop Cup and Copymark Tinker Cup on Sunday.
