Shelley turned in an excellent performance to reach the allroundercricket.com T20 Trophy final.

The Westerley Lane side put up 201-7 at home to Delph with 49 from Abdul Wahid, 34 from Joe Sykes, 61 from South African all-rounder Sash Naidoo and 45 from skipper Greg Wadsworth.

Asim Khurshid was the best of the Delph bowlers with three for 34 while Greg Buckley – who hit six sixes in an over en route to knocking out Barkisland – took two for 26.

In reply, Delph seemed well set at 56-1 off six overs and, at the half-way stage they were 95-3, with Buckley back in the pavilion for 37 and Andy Gleave for 34.

Nathan Jones and Khurshid were then in partnership and got their side to 135-4 with five overs left.

After Khurshid went for 37, Jones (38 not out) and Wasim Qasim (26 not out) did their best to get Delph over the line, but they fell 20 short at 181-6 in their 20 overs.

In the final – which will be held alongside the T20 Shield showpiece at Thongsbridge on Sunday, July 26 – Shelley will face holders Hoylandswaine.

Swaine, who won a bowl-out to progress against Scholes, defeated Broad Oak by five wickets at Haigh Lane in their semi-final, with SP Singh (88) and Max Joice (37 not out) both batting well.

The Oak set 181 off their 20 overs and they did take wickets in the Hoylandswaine reply, with the home side on 101-4 off 11.

Singh went to 50 as Swaine reached 142-4 off 15, and then laid the foundation with Joice for a solid win.

In the Shield semi-finals, Cawthorne were nine-wicket winners at Thurstonland after bowling out the hosts for just 52.

Jake Rodgers took three for 10 and Chris Walmsley two for two and only No11 Greg Holmes made double figures with 18 not out.

Ben Simpson had 19 and Matt Smith 19 not out as Cawthorne got home in 9.1 overs.

Thongsbridge posted a terrific 228-6 with Jamie Hayes cracking 71, Alex Kemp 47 and Tom Raven-Hill 51.

Arman Hussain replied with 64 for Almondbury but no-one else could back him up and they were dismissed for 120, with Raven-Hill adding four for 15 to his batting exploits.
