Richard Hall and Museji Ahmed Bhoola were the batting heroes for Shelley Seconds as they carried off the Earnshaw Cup.

They hit 71 not out and 62 respectively to help Shelley reach 199-5 in their 45 overs at hosts Kirkheaton, for whom Waheed Hussain took four for 20.

Ryan Murfin chipped in with 19 not out at the end for Shelley, who had been given a solid start by opener Mohammed Bhoola with 23.

Opening bowlers Mo Bhoola and Jonathan Hart never allowed Kirkheaton to get ahead of the rate, although Jaymes Hollingworth had 20 and Naved Akram 44 before Tom Gledhill added 29.

But there were too many single-figure scores for Kirkheaton as Mo Bhoola finished with three for 42 and Hart three for 32, while Andrew Murfin’s nine overs yielded two for 16.
