There were some great bowling performances in the Under 11 league of the Huddersfield Junior League.

While the majority of games failed to finish, there were some fine displays, not least from Skelmanthorpe’s trio of bowlers in their game against Denby.

Shaun Greaves took two for eight, Finlay Watson two victims at no cost and Tom Barrow five for five runs.

Hoylandswaine’s Jake Connor was in similar form with three for three runs against Denby Dale, and Denby’s Will Holladay, one of their under 9 squad, took three for just two against Bradley & Colne.

Three of the four preliminary round Under 13 Cup matches have been completed with the three home teams, Birkby RH, Barkisland, and Delph being successful and going through to the first round proper. All three had good wins with two of the teams topping the magic 100 score and setting too large a target for their opponents.

The outstanding game between Mirfield and Skelmanthorpe, and will be completed if necessary with a bowl out, on Friday.

The first round proper of the Under 13 Cup is on Sunday, and then there is only 12 days to complete the next round and the set date clashes with the second round of the Under 17 Cup.

No play was possible in any of the fixture set and games will be played at the end of the season.
