Halifax Town visit Welling this weekend as they aim to secure back to back away wins for the first time this season.

Victory on Saturday’s long visit down south will also make it their third in as many games as The Shaymen look to push for a play off position with the season end drawing nearer.

The 5-1 drubbing over newly relegated and rock-bottom Hyde was only Town’s second away win of the season.

A win on Saturday will be vital for the Shaymen as this away day is followed by two difficult home fixtures against league leaders Luton Town and third placed Alfreton Town.

Welling are two points behind The Shaymen but four league places behind, as just three points separate sixth placed Gateshead and 11th placed Welling.

If Welling win, they will leapfrog Halifax but midfielder Lois Maynard is confident of the team’s prospects this season.

“You only have to look at the league table to see that play-offs are definitely a realistic target for us.

There are a lot of teams that are around us on the same amount of games as us and there are a few below us who haven’t but I’d rather have the points on the board.

We are only three points off the play-offs so we’ll just have to take each game as it comes. Play-offs are definitely possible though”
