Field Head secured their passage to the KSL Lockwood PH Trophy’s semi-finals where they face Golcar Con.

The pair will clash a week tomorrow after Field Head notched a convincing 7-3 victory over Wellington B at Reinwood Rec to secure an aggregate score of 12-3 over two legs.

Dan Wright and Jamie Metcalfe each grabbed two goals for Head, with Alan Eastwood, Josh Restall and Tom Travas also on target.

James Hamlet, Jordan Greig and Gareth Bradley responded for Wellington.

In the league Linthwaite march on at the top following their 5-0 victory over joint second Queen at Dryclough Rec.

The scoreline belied Queen’s contribution to the game.

Scorers for Linthwaite were Joshua Shield, Declan James-Thomas (2), Elliot Wilkinson and Tom White

Rob Piercy and Chris Wiley played well at the back for Queen, while Paddy Maylett was strong and solid in the air.

Danny Naidole battled well in midfield and saw a 30 yard shot hit the crossbar and another of his shots was well parried by the Linthwaite keeper and although Kiero Lawrence followed up, the keeper spread himself well to save again.

Lawrence eventually replaced keeper Luke Haigh 10 minutes into the second half – Haigh having struggled on with an injury.

Stephen Brook displayed good distribution, but Haigh’s injury was key to the result.

It was only 1-0 to Linthwaite at half-time, although Queen finished the half the better side, having had several free kicks, which they really should have capitalised on.

Linthwaite’s second goal early into the second half was a major turning point.

Wellington A moved up from fourth to joint second, alongside Queen and their defeated opponents Dalton, after a 5-2 success at Standiforth.

Nat Kelly made some fine saves in goal for Dalton and Chris Milby and Connor Kaye went close with good attempts on goal.

An early penalty awarded to Wellington for handball was converted by Anthony Haigh.

Adam Hill got Wellington’s second to give them a half-time lead of 2-0.

Ashley Flynn and Hill scored again to give Wellington a comfortable advantage.

Dalton got one back through Jamie Hartley, but Wellington immediately restored their four goal advantage, as Flynn grabbed his second of the game for 5-1.

Dalton made it 5-2 with the last kick of the game when 16-year-old Jack Senior scored.

Marlon Adams and Paul Pyke shared the goalkeeping duties during the game as Wellington didn’t have a recognised goal keeper for the game, however they both performed very well in goal to keep out a strong Dalton strikeforce.

Walkers Hounds maintained fifth spot after beating Mooreside Colts 5-2 at Golcar.

Dan Stocker, Connor Sykes and Sam Gill recorded for Hounds.

Hounds had a lot of possession in the first half and led 3-0,with an Alex Dunn header pulling one back for Colts on the stroke of half-time.

In the second half the Colts were looking the better side for long spells, having many chances and a screamer by Daniel Conway from the corner of the area made it 3-2.

Hounds stepped up their game as Colts faded, and added a further two goals.

For Colts Niall Linighan at left back, and midfield er Liam Kenny showed up well, with Conway earning the Mooreside man-of-the-match.
