Meanwhile, Wellington A and Towngate of the Heavy Woollen will contest a repeat of last year’s final in the Huddersfield District FA Sunday Challenge Cup when they meet at Warrenside on April 27.

Wellington beat Field head 2-0 at Barr Street to progress to the final while Towngate beat Dalton 5-1 at Grange Moor.

After losing both league games to Field Head 7-0 and 7-3, Wellington were much more solid in the semi-final.

Despite the windy conditions, Adam Walsh controlled the game for Wellington, but it was Anthony Haigh who scored both goals – one in each half.

Towngate started the better against Dalton but failed to take any of their chances and Dalton grew in confidence and were unlucky not to be ahead with a Jamie Hartley effort that was tipped around a post.

Both teams played some good football but Towngate opened the scoring just before half time through Danny Facey. In the second half Dalton kept pushing and eventually their pressure told, a close finish from Hartley after good work from Liam Reilly.

However Towngate soon restored their lead through Facey and the Dalton heads went – Towngate adding goals through JP Flynn, Levi Maturine and Josh Greening.

In the KSL Division I leaders Black Bull thrashed basement side Wellington B 13-0 at Skelmanthorpe, where Sykes (S) led the way with five goals, Hill and Dignan three each and Seal and Haigh one apiece.

Mid-table Inter Athletic beat Almondbury Woolpack 2-1 at Golcar in a dress rehearsal of the Lockwood Private Hire final.

It was 0-0 at half time, with Woolpack again guilty of wasting good chances.

Inter led 1-0, were pegged back by a goal from Chris Senior, but Inter then netted a late winner.
