AFC Emley are through to the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup quarter-finals for the fourth time in their history.

Now Darren Hepworth’s Northern Counties East League First Division side – they go to Eccleshill United on Saturday – are eyeing a first-ever semi-final spot.

They beat NCEL Premier Division side Parkgate for the second time this season to make the last eight.

Ashley Flynn scored twice to take his season’s haul to 46 in the 3-1 win at the Welfare Ground.

Kieran Ryan was the other scorer for the Huddersfield side, who also conquered Parkgate in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup, beating them 7-1.

The Rotherham visitors were put under pressure from early on in the Sheffield Cup clash.

Flynn curled home a ninth-minute free-kick to put Emley ahead.

The scorer was thwarted by Parkgate keeper Ben Brunt after linking with Ryan and Jordan Coduri.

But Brunt couldn’t deny Ryan his 17th goal of the season in the 18th minute.

Ryan beat the keeper with a low shot from just inside he area.

Brunt saved from Coduri before Emley keeper Adam Lawlor denied Alex Lill.

Emley were back on the attack at the start of the second half, and Bruit blocked a Flynn shot with his legs.

The home striker struck again after 70 minutes, with a shot which went in off both posts.

Parkgate’s consolation came from Lill in the 90th minute.

Emley, unbeaten in seven games in all competitions, are fifth in the NCEL First Division.

Bradford side Eccleshill are 11th.
