Birchencliffe and Westend Under 11s have both struggled in the lower reaches of the RCD Fifth Division this season but victory for Birchencliffe at neighbouring Lindley was matched by an equally-impressive win for Westend at home to Hepworth Utd.
Kai Castle (2), Frank Henson and Louis Smith were the goalscorers as Birchencliife notched a 4-0 win at Lindley.
Meanwhile, at Salendine Nook, Alex Philokyprou scored for Hepworth but replies from Harvey Kenningley, Harvey Daniel and Owen Loucas secured a morale-boosting 3-1 win for Westend Tigers in their last game of the season.
Following defeat at Howden Clough last week, Brighouse’s hit-and-miss season continued with victory at Dewsbury Rangers in Division V of the Under 12s.
Declan Raistrick (2), Josh Kavaliauskas and William Ottoway scored the goals to secure a 4-2 win to keep Brighouse on course for a top five finish, but they’ll need to find some consistency if they want to do better next year.
Victory for Almondbury Lions Under 14s kept their hopes of promotion from Division IV alive with victory over Lepton Highlanders.
Jamie McCarthy (2), Alex Dunstan and Justin Johnson scored the goals to seal a 4-1 win to retain third place in the division for Almondbury.
Fourth-placed Gomersal kept up the pressure on the top three teams in Division IV of the Under 15s with a narrow victory over Thornhill United.
Goals from Linley Gentles (2), Leon Bould and Jacob Gorman were just enough to edge a 4-3 win for Gomersal.
Upperthong Under 16s grabbed another three points with victory over Uppermill to boost hopes of lifting the Division III title.
Uppermill were unable to find the net as a goal each for Alfie Higgins, Nathan Joyce, George Jowett, Edward Clowes, Aiden Franklin and Josh Jessop sealed a comfortable 6-0 win for Upperthong.
In the same division, Northowram remain hard on the heels of Upperthong following victory at Warley Rangers.
Gabbitas grabbed one for Northowram with Sutcliffe and Parkin adding two each to seal a 5-0 win.
Victory at Westend moved Greetland into second place in Division III of the Under 17s.
Two goals for the home side were not enough as replies from Jack Kenworthy and a Brierley hat trick secured a 4-2 win for Greetland.
Under the expert guidance of Chris Helliwell, YMCA Under 14s continue to make steady progress and their latest win at Greetland keeps them well placed for promotion.
Luke Wadsworth (2), Stephenson and Sam Jennings scored to give YMCA a 4-0 victory and, with leaders Wyke Wanderers still to play, the Salendine Nook side still have the Division II title firmly in their sights.
The RCD League takes an Easter break next week, returning April 27 with Under 9 and Under 10 Mini-Soccer Finals at the PPG Canalside complex.
Meanwhile, Lepton Highlanders Under 12s will be making the journey to Woodlesford for their West Riding County FA Cup final against Springhead in a 2pm kick off at the County Ground.
