Black Bull are the new Get Smart Kirklees Sunday League champions.

But Bay Athletic look set to lose their grip on the West Riding County Amateur League.

Bull beat Inter Athletic 5-0 at Golcar to clinch their crown.

They got off to a tentative start in their chase for the title.

Keeper Ben Chard made some fine saves as Inter tested the table toppers in the first half.

The turning point came when Inter had a player sent off just before half-time for blocking a goalbound shot with his arm.

Bull scored from the resulting penalty and they eventually ground down resolute 10-man Inter in the second half to secure the prize.

Ovenden West Riding strengthened their grip on the County Amateur prize with a 5-2 home win over Storthes Hall.

Defending champions Bay Athletic were frustrated when their home game against Halifax Irish was postponed because of waterlogging.

Bay trail Ovenden by seven points with two games in hand, and the Halifax side can clinch the title by winning at Steeton tonight.

With their superior goal difference (56 to 42) a draw could also be sufficient.

Andrew Bailey (2), John Booth, Jordan Coduri and Matt Jones scored against Storthes Hall, who had Alex Slack and Lee Bradshaw (penalty) on target.

Bay go to Storthes Hall tomorrow and Golcar United on Saturday.

A new date for the Halifax Irish game has still to be confirmed.
