Brighouse Town will go into their pre-season clash with AFC Emley looking to build on their display second half display against Bradford Park Avenue.

Town head to the Welfare Ground tomorrow night (7.45) and will hope to progress from their 3-2 defeat by Park Avenue.

The game against the Conference North side at the Dual Seal Stadium started poorly for Paul Quinn’s side as they were three goals down inside 20 minutes.

Chib Chilaka put the visitors ahead after 10 minutes and Richard Marshall doubled the lead when he pounced on a rebound after his initial penalty effort had been saved by Brighouse keeper Jacob Giles.

On 20 minutes Chilaka scored his second with a tap-in after Giles had done well to block a shot from Danny Frost, but Brighouse managed to stem the tide.

Just after the half hour a cross from Leon Henry was met by left-back Chris Fisher who guided his shot beyond Park Avenue keeper Jon Maxted.

The lead was cut to one goal four minutes from half-time when Leon Henry forced the ball home after Ryan Hall’s shot had been blocked by Maxted’s legs.
