Clifton Rangers Under 12s have struggled in the RCD League Division I this season and, with relegation a distinct possibility, they went down 11-0 at Rastrick.

Rastrick took control from the first minute and, despite the heroics of Rangers keeper Nathan Farrell, seven goals for Robbie Butterworth, a Danny McGrath hat-trick and one from Tyler Stewart secured a comfortable Rastrick win.

Lepton Highlanders and Westend Lions remain neck-and-neck for the Under 12 title after both sides won, but they each have a backlog of games to catch up with and still have to play each other twice – so the last month of the season is likely to prove a testing time.

Lucas Marriott (3), Alfie Smalley (2) and Carrington grabbed the goals to give Lepton a 6-0 victory at Gomersal.

Meanwhile, Westend played host to Ossett Town, whose single goal was not enough to stop Westend who enjoyed a 4-1 win thanks to two goals each from Ben Mellor and Tom Brook.

In Division II of the Under 12s, Battyeford picked up a vital three points to ease their relegation worries with victory over Kirkburton.

One goal for the visitors was cancelled out by replies from Jerome (2), Jay Dyson, Alfie Edmondson and Josh Hoyle as Battyeford ran out 5-1 winners.

At the top end of the division, Honley’s promotion hopes suffered a slight setback when they were held to a draw at YMCA.

Despite hitting the net six times with goals from Harrison Booth, Elijah Sheard, Himat Sohal and a Matthew Foster hat trick, YMCA matched the tally and Honley had to settle for a single point.

A point at Drighlington will have raised Hepworth United’s hopes of avoiding relegation from Division II in the Under 13s.

Goals from Matthew Bennett and Ethan Westwood-Eaves secured a 2-2 draw for Hepworth.

Five goals from James Hill and one from William Early kept Kirkburton Under 13s’ hopes of promotion from Division III ticking along with a 6-1 victory over Cumberworth.

Netherton Under 14s dealt with their backlog of games by playing both Saturday and Sunday with mixed results to leave them mid-table in Division III.

Goals from Ryan Denton (2) and Kyrone Cooper secured a 3-2 win over Kirkheaton, but the same scoreline on Sunday left them with no points as Norristhorpe scored four times to cancel out strikes from Bally Uppal and Luke Sild.

At the top of the same division, Upperthong continued their march towards the title with a 6-2 victory at Norristhorpe.

Two goals for the home side were cancelled out by strikes from Cameron Sharpe (2), Joey Hodgkiss (2), Anthony Dawson and Joe Vaughan to maintain Upperthong’s 100% record.

The RCD League Cup and Trophy finals get under way next week (March 30) at Shelley FC’s Storthes Hall complex.

Finals are – Under 11 Cup: Elland v Rothwell (11am). Under 15 Cup: Uppermill v YMCA (11am). Under 11 Trophy: Drighlington v Norristhorpe (1pm). Under 18 Cup: Howden Clough v Woodkirk Valley (1pm).
