Cumberworth Under 12s grabbed a first win of their Division II season in the RCD Huddersfield Junior League with a 3-2 success against previously unbeaten Battyeford.

Harris Walker, Rhodes and Peter Ackroyd netted for Cumberworth.

Skelmanthorpe Under 12s travelled to Birstall for a Division 4A meeting with Howden Clough and came away with a 3-3 draw.

The Skelmanthorpe goals came from Connor O’Leary (2) and Jack Watson and secured a well-earned point for their side to move them into second place.

In the same age group, Cleckheaton moved into the top half of Division 4B when Munt (2) and Webster secured a 3-1 win at Hepworth United.

Meltham Under 12s continued their impressive start to the Division 5A season with a resounding 9-3 victory at Cumberworth B.

Meltham made it three wins from three with goals from Dawid Wojciuk (2), Oliver Aughton (2), Josh Wilson, Aaron Pepworth and a Morgan Thornton hat trick.

Westend Under 13s made it four wins from their first four games with victory at Queensbury but, after taking an early lead, the Salendine Nook side found themselves 2-1 and 3-2 down before they could celebrate.

Westend needed to find their best form to retain top spot in Division 1.

Goals from Osatamen Iyekekpolor (2), Alfie Westwood, Fabrizio DeVito and Liam Farrell finally ended Queensbury’s challenge as Westend ran out 5-3 winners.

Honley stay close on Westend’s heels following a narrow 3-2 win at Ossett Albion.

The home side found the net twice to keep the Honley supporters nervous but two goals from Matthew Foster and one from Nathan Sheard were just enough to ensure three points for Honley.

Newly-promoted YMCA Under 15s have made a strong start to the season and their latest victory sent them into second place in Division I.

Northowram were the visitors at Laund Hill but they found the net only once as replies from Luke Wadsworth, Lewis Fitzpatrick and Jack Wilde secured a 3-1 win for YMCA.

Another Lepton side doing well this season are the Under 15s, who travelled to Rawthorpe High for a Division II meeting with Dalton Dynamoes.

Despite scoring twice, the home side ended on the losing side as goals from Jacob Mulhall (2) and Joseph McCauley sealed a 3-2 win for Lepton.

Meanwhile, Lepton’s Under 15 B team shared the points with Upperthong B in their Division 4B meeting at the Highlanders Sports Ground.

The home side netted four times to keep the game on a knife edge but two goals each for Ronan Greenwood and Joseph Vaughan secured a point for Upperthong.

Lepton Highlanders were busy at Gildersome in the first round of the West Riding County FA Under 14 Cup, and victory for the Highlanders had to be won from the penalty spot as the sides could not be separated after extra time.

Charlie Auty (2), Daniel Flatt and Joe Marriott netted for Lepton in the match and Lepton won the shoot-out 4-2.

Lepton now face Farsley Celtic in the second round on November 2.
