Dalton had eight different scorers as they powered past lowly Almondbury Woolpack to reach the semi-finals of the District FA Sunday Challenge Cup.

High-flying KSL side Dalton didn’t have it all their own way, however.

In the first half Woolpack should have recorded when they had three one-on-ones and it was only 0-0 at half time.

Into the second half, Dalton quickly hit three goals and got all eight in a 35-minute spell to finish 8-0 winners.

Ryan Haigh, who grabbed the first goal, was instrumental in the success and deserved his man of the match award.

Other scorers were Andy Anderson, Luke Haigh, Chris Milby, Nathan Large, Bradley Ramsden-Reilly, Liam Reilly and Josh Fiddes.

Dalton now play Towngate in their semi-final tie at Grange Moor on April 13 (2pm).

Inter Athletic beat Walkes Hounds 5-2 to reach the KSL Lockwood Private Hirt Trophy final. They will meet Almondbury Woolpack in the showpiece on April 20 at Lepton (2.30).

Danny Stocker made it 1-0 to Inter with a crisp close-range shot and, a minute later, he doubled his tally, shooting into an empty net after a poor keeper clearance.

Josh Smith had several chances to score for Inter but he contrived to shoot wide or hit the bar when well placed – although he did net twice.

Nicholas Shaw notched both goals for Walkers, ably assisted by Paul Swallow and Tom Brown.

Inter keeper Leon Stephenson stood up well when Walkers broke through or launched in corners (best chances were from Walkers’ Brown).

Among Inter’s goals was a penalty – dispatched by Jimmy Meadows – following a hand ball.

Man of the match was Inter’s Steve “Reggie” Perrin.

In Division I of the KSL, Black Bull lead after a 7-0 win over Helion Albion.

Sykes(D) 2, Sylvester, Jagger, Hill, Walters and Sykes(S) were on target for Bull.

Field Head’s good run was brought to an end by Queen – who won 2-1 at Dryclough Rec.

Dean Wharam and Tom Hampshire scored for Queen, with Rhys Jowett replying for Head.
