Huddersfield Town Ladies beat the Loughborough Foxes 7-0 at Storthes Hall with Emily Heckler grabbing a hat trick.

Town were ahead after only two minutes as they hunted a first win in three games, Debbie Hastings scoring after a nod-down from Heckler.

Town then took full control, Katie Lockwood going close before Heckler netted from the spot on 26 minutes, after Kate Mallin was felled in the box.

Five minutes before half time Heckler grabbed her second with a header and Loughborough decided to play with a high line in the second period, being 3-0 down.

This, though, was a suicide move and although the visitors hit the bar early on, Town went on to exploit the free space at the back.

Hastings broke through but hit a post, and it wasn’t until the 68th minute that Lockwood put Town four up, after combining with Hastings.

Mallin got the fifth, while Heckler completed her hat trick nine minutes from time with another header.

Hastings then finished off a brilliant performance with the seventh, rounding the keeper in style.

Manager Glen Preston said: “It’s a great result and we executed the gameplan perfectly.

“We set up the team in a certain way to dismantle the opposition and we did that really well. In the second half they really came at us, but we held our own.”
