Hepworth United Ladies have risen quickly through the West Riding County Women’s Football League and are now embarking on their first season in the Premier Division.

They have been granted permission to build a new clubhouse and changing facilities at their Far Lane ground, to benefit the surrounding community and all who play there.

The club are also developing links with local schools, inviting children of all ages to participate in football, in particular any girls who are interested in taking up the sport, following the recent success of the England Women’s squad at the World Cup.

The club have coaching sessions for girls on Wednesdays at Holmfirth High School (astroturf pitch, 6pm until 7.30pm).

Their aim is create a pathway through to the open-age ladies team.

The ladies team opened their Premiership campaign with a win against a strong Bradford Park Avenue side.

They are continuing to look for players aged 16 and over to strengthen the squad. Any new players are welcome at their Thursday evening training sessions.

Off the field, the team continue to raise funds to keep up and running, with support from Gallery Hairdressing of Kirkburton, who have backed the Hepworth United girls team from the outset.

Owners, Paul Brown and Ann Dineen, have provided kits for the girls and have continued their support for the ladies.

The team are also backed by Sean Bostock, managing director of Keystone Europe Limited, Huddersfield, who continues to back the team, having provided them with tracksuits in their successful promotion campaign last season.
